The Exemplary Real Time Year weather files (RTYs), current Reference Meteorological Year files (RMYs) and Ersatz Future Meteorological Years (EFMYs) used for these monthly simulations are available for purchase to allow clients to simulate their own designs for energy budgeting and monitoring rather than rely on analogy with the performance of these archetypical buildings and systems. ADELAIDE

Energy Index (%)

The solar PV simulation output results were 6.3% higher than the long-term average. The cooling peak load was higher than the long-term average for all archetypes (19.3%, 23.5% and 15.7% for 3-storey office, 10-storey office and supermarket respectively). It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Adelaide experienced a less humid and warmer March compared to the long-term average. The GHI was much higher while average wind speed was lower than the long-term average.

BRISBANE

Energy Index (%)

The solar PV simulation output results were 26.2% lower than the long-term average. The cooling peak load was higher than the long-term average for all archetypes (13.1%, 15.6% and 4.0% for 3-storey office, 10-storey office and supermarket respectively). It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Brisbane experienced comparably warmer and more humid March than the long-term average. The GHI and wind speed were much lower than the long-term average.

The solar PV simulation output results were 5.6% higher than the long-term average. The cooling peak load was 19.3% lower for 3-storey office while 2.7% higher for the supermarket. It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Canberra experienced a more humid and warmer March compared to the long-term average. The GHI and wind speed were much higher than the long-term average.

The cooling peak load was 2.1%, 2.6% lower for the 3-storey office and 10 storey office while 1.8% higher for supermarket respectively. It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Darwin experienced a slightly warmer and humid March than the long-term average. The GHI and wind speed were lower than the long-term average.

The cooling peak load was higher than the long-term average for all archetypes (4.2% for 3-storey office and 0.3% for 10-storey office respectively) It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Hobart experienced a less humid and warmer March compared to the long-term average. The GHI and wind speed was much higher than the long-term average.

The solar PV simulation output results were 12.6% higher than the long-term average. All archetypes saw a n increase in cooling peak load. The cooling peak load was 2.3%, 6.5%, and 2.9% higher for the 3-storey office, 10-storey office and supermarket, respectively. It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Melbourne experienced a more humid and cooler March compared to the long-term average. The GHI was much higher than the long-term average.

The solar PV simulation output results were 8.6% higher than the long-term average. The cooling peak load was 28.5%, 28.4% lower for the 3-storey office and 10-storey office while 7.6% higher for the supermarket. It should be noted that peak load results are highly sensitive to the particular building and HVAC design and settings – it is more appropriate to evaluate those results from a bespoke model using our RTY data.

Perth experienced a comparably humid and cool March compared to the long-term average. The GHI and wind speed were much higher than the long-term average.

The cooling peak load was 9.9%, 7.0% lower for the 3-storey office and 10-storey office while 1.4% higher for the supermarket.
