Free 2024 Weather Year Data for the Capital City of Your Choice

Exemplary Energy is proud to announce that we are now providing free access to Real-Time Year (RTY) weather data for the 8 capital cities in Australia for the 2024 calendar year. These data files are now available for download, and can be used for a variety of applications including benchmarking simulations, performance analysis, and energy modeling.

We want to make it clear that these files are completely free of charge to access. However, to ensure that we can accommodate as many users as possible, we are limiting our offer to one capital city for each reader of this edition or our blog. If you need data for multiple cities, please get in touch with us to discuss your needs.

Our team can produce RTY and Reference Meteorological Year (RMY) weather data for roughly 235 locations across Australia, and we are thrilled to be able to offer this sneak peek of our products to our readers. By providing access to this data for the 8 capital cities, we hope to support a range of users, from building owners and facility managers to researchers and energy analysts.

To receive a single RTY file for your capital city of choice, simply send an email to exemplary.energy@exemplary.com.au with the subject line containing “Free 2024 data: Request for in”, with nominating your preferred location and nominating ACDB (Australian Climate Data Bank, for the CSIRO AccuRate/Chenath engine), EPW (EnergyPlus Weather) or TMY2. We are committed to making this process as easy and straightforward as possible, and we’re always happy to answer any questions you may have. Readers seeking data for extra cities or more than one format should allow $100 per site/format.  Data for the 12 months to the end of last month will cost $200.  (Prices do not include GST nor the 50% discount for academic and unfunded research applications where appropriate).

We’re excited about the potential of this data to inform more effective and informed decision-making across a range of applications. We welcome your feedback and suggestions for how we can continue to improve our services in the future.

Future editions will provide regular updates on our continuing work to produce updated weather and climate data for 250 locations across Australia. We look forward to offering more such valuable resources to our readers in the near future.
