The newly elected federal Labor government has committed to an emissions reduction goal of 43% by 2030. Other parties and independents are pushing for stronger action – a 75% by 2030 and net zero by 2035 in the case of the Greens.
Along with many other organisations in the built environment, AIRAH has long understood the leading role that buildings play in bringing down emissions, limiting global temperature rises, and also in dealing with climate change that cannot be avoided.
AIRAH has announced that it is reaching out to the newly elected ministers and government to remind them of how HVAC&R building services can help Australia meet our revised emissions targets, and to offer our support in the work ahead. Exemplary Energy is a member of AIRAH and fully supportive of this initiative.
