James is in his final year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic & Communication Systems) and a Bachelor of Information Technology at ANU. He recently completed his Honours Thesis on privacy issues in the offline finding feature of the Samsung Find My Mobile app. During the project, he used a variety of investigation methods to find weaknesses in the application and identify security issues which have since been reported to Samsung and the findings are expected to be released after Samsung have been given the appropriate amount of time to prepare a patch.

Outside of his studies, James has also worked at Mac1 as an Apple Device Technician, Omexom Australia as an Administration/Audit Support Officer and NEC Australia as a Relocation Technician.
James is passionate about environmental and sustainability issues, having spent time in Nepal with Engineers without Borders designing sustainable engineering solutions for rural communities. In his spare time, James enjoys exercising, video games, sport and spending time with his partner.
